UvA Library

The UvA Library is an inspiring and hospitable study, research and meeting space, both offline and online, for researchers, lecturers and students. We collect, store, manage and select information from sources worldwide. We offer a platform for students and researchers to share past and present sources and for making the information and sources available to a broad group of users. We provide our users with assistance tailored to their specific needs so that they can find, within the extensive range of available information, the right sources for use in education and research. We use our unique combination of libraries and the museum to do this. In this way, we further advance the reach of our knowledge and help improve the quality of higher education in Amsterdam.

UB Singel is the old building of the University Library (UvA) and right in the center of Amsterdam.
The Allard Pierson is the museum and knowledge institute for the heritage collections of the University of Amsterdam.

OBA Oosterdok

With a surface area of 28,000 square metres, OBA Oosterdok on Oosterdokseiland is the largest library in the Netherlands. On the 7th floor you will find the OBA Theater with 250 seats. In addition, there is an OBA Café and restaurant Babel (with a summer terrace) that offers a spectacular view over the city.
