- 16 January 2020, 11:28
Theme: "How to get engaged and connect libraries in the interreligious dialogue?”"
Translations: [Deutsch] [Français]
In line with the theme of the next World Library and Information Congress, “Inspire, Engage, Enable and Connect”, the Religions: Libraries and Dialogue Special Interest Group (Relindial) is seeking proposals for papers to be presented at the IFLA WLIC in Dublin, on the theme: “How to get engaged and connect libraries in the interreligious dialogue?”
Libraries are important places where people get connected not only with books and documents but also with other people. The theory of the third place described it already. In this way the matter of fact that the theme of religion and the interreligious dialogue are becoming more and more important we are looking for contributions for the session that reflect and analyze how libraries can get connected and get engaged for the Interreligious Dialogue.
- Are there examples of collaboration (like best practice examples) how libraries work together?
- How do libraries of all types document the interreligious dialogue?
- How do libraries include their users and their patrons in this field?
- How do libraries integrate these questions into cataloguing or semantic web issues?
All colleagues and professionals who wish to share some of their experiences among the different aspects listed above are invited to send their proposals before 28 February 2020.
The session will last two hours during which debates and exchanges of information can be organized.
Proposals must be sent to:
Fabien Vandermarcq, Relindial communication officer
