As part of the IFLA WLIC 2023, colleagues from the Dutch library world will share their knowledge with participants from around the world. You can learn about specific topics through short presentations during the Congress!

For example, Sander Slegtenhorst of Bibliotheek Rotterdam will describe how libraries can stimulate the personal development of members of Gen-Z (young people aged between 18 and 27). Bibliotheek Rotterdam works with partner Quardin to show how you can effectively make use of culture.

Cultural programmes at the library, such as ‘Hip hop in your Library’, help youngsters to discover their talents. They learn how to build a social network, their self-confidence gets a boost, and their mental health improves.

Thanks to programmes like these, young people become more aware of themselves and their environment and are better able to participate actively in the community.
